FIP and IRRO Organized a Publishers' Event on the Significance of Intellectual Property in the Publishing & Education Sphere

On 2nd, March Thursday, the Federation of Indian Publishers and the Indian Reprographic Rights Organization hosted a publishers' event on "Significance of Intellectual Property in Publishing & Education Sphere, at the Taj Ambassador Hotel, New Delhi.

FIP and IRRO Organized a Publishers' Event on the Significance of Intellectual Property

It proved to be an insightful platform for discussing the crucial role of intellectual property in the publishing and education sectors. 

Pratibha M. Singh, Hon'ble Justice, Delhi High Court, attended the event as Chief Guest. Kevin Fitzgerald, Director at WIPO, graced the occasion as Special Guest. 

The event began with a lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by the felicitation of the Chief Guest. Ramesh K. Mittal, President of FIP, presented a welcome address to the gathering, while Asoke Ghosh, President Emeritus of FIP, delivered the Keynote address. 

The event featured two-panel discussions with Pratibha M. Singh, Hon'ble Justice, Delhi High Court, and Kevin Fitzgerald, in conversation with Pranav Gupta, Secretary-General IRRO, sharing their insights into the subject "Importance & Role of Collective Rights Management Organization." 

While in the next session, Karan Thapar, Director, DPITT, and Dr Yogesh Pai, in conversation with Ankit Sahni, IP and Technology Advocate, discussed their view on "Navigating Copyright in the Publishing Industry."

Overall, the event provided an excellent opportunity for experts and stakeholders in the publishing industry to share their insights and views on the importance of intellectual property. It is hoped that such events will continue to facilitate constructive exchange among stakeholders and promote the protection of creativity and innovation in the publishing industry.
